I have been a great supporter of Justin Bieber since his first releases and have tried thoroughly to follow his journey and career in the music industry. From his past releases of albums such as, 'My World', 'Never Say Never - The Remixes', 'My World 2.0' and 'Under The Mistletoe', Justin Bieber has definitely put a stamp on the music industry and near enough every household around the world knows his name.
In June 2012, Justin released his newest album 'Believe', and wow, I think many others were not expecting this from him! 'Believe' is very different from anything Justin has released before and he has matured greatly with his fans and music. I am now going to review track by track my thoughts on Believe Deluxe Edition.
'All Around The World' (feat Ludacris) - 01
All Around The World was one of Justin's promotion tracks of the album and was released a few weeks before Believe. I remember the first time I heard this song and how put back I was by this track. It was released in the UK on the 5th June which happened to also be my birthday so I stayed up for the release. I was so put back by this song as it was totally different to what Justin had ever released before and had such an up beat to the track that you just wanted to replay the song. This is also a significant song to fans as one of the most well known hits 'Baby' also featured Ludacris so it was great to see Justin and Ludacris collaborate again, and what a track they created! It very much makes you feel as a fan base very close.
'Boyfriend' - 02
Boyfriend was the first promotional track and single that Justin released off Believe and it has a very quick response by critics and the public all over the world. This track straight away showed how well Justin had matured and was a teaser of the sort of tracks that would be included in Believe. I think this song gave a great eye opener to the public to what Justin was trying to say and to show he wasn't just a one hit wonder. It also had a great response to the music video with a great build up and end product. It showed Justin's vocals very differently and I think it was a great risk on Justin's behalf to release this track first as it really did catch the public's attention.
'As Long As You Love Me' (feat Big Sean) - 03
As Long As You Love Me was the last promotional track to be released before his album release. This is a track that can be repeated and you will not get bored as the way this track has been produced is phenomenal. It shows a dark love song with great vocals whilst all the sounds collide together and make it sound overall, wow. Big Sean also makes the song a great rounded song as the vocals and lyrics really all work together. Apart from just the track, the video that was released at the start of August really made the song come to life. It very much made the song come to life in all the different ways it was trying to come out. It would definitely be a song I'd love to dance to in a club!
'Catching Feelings' - 04
Catching Feelings is a very soft, romantic song that any person who listens to it can sink in to Justin's voice and drift away. Justin's vocals sound very soft and this is what helps it make sound so romantic along with being lyrically great. Out of the all the tracks on the album this definitely reminds me of Justin before but someone now who has matured and vocally grown. It is a great track to simply relax to and sing along to whilst drifting off in to the vocals.
'Take You' - 05
Take You is really a song when you first hear it and go, 'yes, Justin really has come far!' I was lucky enough to see Justin perform on the 16th March at the 02 Arena and I think would be a track I'd love to see on the Believe tour played. When you first hear the guitar at the start of the song, I was instantly drawn in to the song and Justin's vocals just make you want to keep listening, alongside with the lyrics. This is another one of Justin's songs that I'd love to hear in a club as the chorus is just something you want to dance to with your friends and sing. It also includes slight dub step that has been very cleverly produced. It definitely reflects a matured Justin, I just hope his younger fans could appreciate this song.
'Right Here' (feat Drake) - 06
Right Here was a song that I believe was very anticipated as it features well known singer Drake. As soon as the song kicks in, I first thought it sounded very old school with the introduction to the song and Justin's voice. It sounds vocally very different to majority of Justin's songs but I think it still sounds great! It is a completely different type of song in comparison to the rest of the album but works very well. It has been produced well and the collaboration of both Drake's and Justin's voices works amazingly together.
'Fall' - 07
Fall is one of my favourite songs as I think it really shows Justin's vocal ability and is lyrically very romantic. I read when the album was released this song was inspired by a book Justin had read but it is a song that I think many people would be able to relate to. It's vocals and instruments has been produced really well together to make the song really well rounded and is definitely a song I have played many times on repeat.
'Die In Your Arms' - 08
Die In Your Arms was the second promotional song to be released after Boyfriend and it definitely had positive feedback from a large range of people whether old or new fans. The song is very laid back but the vocals and lyrics are beautiful and I imagine I am not the only female fan that melted when they heard this song. It is a song that not only older fans would appreciate but the younger fans too who have followed Justin his whole journey. I think Justin was able to catch all his audiences very well in this song.
'Thought Of You' - 09
Thought Of You has to be once of the most happy, up beat songs on the Believe album and it really caught my attention when I first heard it. Imagine a hot sunny day, with your speakers up, dancing around your room; this would definitely be a song you want to turn up loud and sing a lot to! For example, I blew my headphones listening to this song loud as it is such a 'feel good' song. As again, I think this would appeal to all of Justin's audience but is definitely a song I'd love to see him sing on the Believe tour as it's such an uplifting song.
'Beauty And A Beat' (feat Nicki Minaj) - 10
Beauty And A Beat is definitely a song you have to listen to if you haven't managed to listen to any of the album. When I was reading through the track list and had heard through rumors etc of Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj collaborating, I was definitely excited to see what they had came up with and I was far from disappointed; I was ecstatic! The chorus literally is just perfect, I can't state how impressed I am with this song and how many times I ask for this to be played if I am out in a club or dancing. I have showed many people this song to turn their opinions of Justin to positive and they all literally say the same thing, 'wow'. No one would expect this sort of song from him and I am so happy he has created a song like this. I must have repeated it at least ten times when I first heard it as it's been produced so well.
'One Love' - 11
One Love is a great song that you want to sing alongside to because you really hear Justin's vocals in this song and it really relaxes you. There has been many times I've just taken myself away from the world listening to this song as it's a synthesis is very relaxing and definitely makes you feel happy! It is a great track from Justin and is a song I have listened to a lot out of the album.
'Be Alright' - 12
As soon as Be Alright kicks in you can tell the song is very much going to be just an acoustic guitar and Justin and it is beautiful. His voice sounds so raw and guitar sounds so beautiful against his voice, it is a great track for all his fans as I imagine we all go through down days so it really does pick you up. It literally feels like a very sincere song from Justin's heart that of course breaks a lot of girls heart as it imply it's to Selena Gomez, but either way, Justin has written this song very well alongside Dan Kanter and it definitely picks me up on bad days.
'Believe' - 13
Believe is probably one of the most important tracks all of Justin Bieber's fan base as he wrote this song to his fans. The lyrics shows his story and I really love how open he is in lyrics and includes his fans in his album. It really does show how thankful he is for his opportunity and how much effort fans put in for him. It very much shows what the album is about to with the message of where would Justin be if his fans didn't believe him. This inspired the album and as a long term fan, this song does mean a lot. I can see this being one of the last songs Justin will sing on his Believe tour and that makes me excited. I would be honestly surprised if he didn't sing this song live.
'Out Of Town Girl' - 14
Out Of Town Girl is a very different track as to the way it sounds from Justin. His vocals and the way it has been produced do really flow throughout the whole song however, it is probably my least played songs on the album because I think it's just nothing I relate to as a person but I cannot doubt or say it's a bad song because it really isn't! Just my personal preference in what I like a song to have in it.
'She Don't Like The Lights' - 15
She Don't Like The Lights is one of my most played tracks out of the album. The introduction to the song is cameras flashing and then the beats all hit and so does Justin's voice. It all is produced very well. It is another song that I'd love to hear in a club as I could really dance to this song. However, in relation to Justin I believe these lyrics in the songs are very relevant to his life because he is always in the lights and there is a very set message through the song. It's definitely an interesting song by Justin as it definitely shows how mature he has become and reflects his life brilliantly.
'Maria' - 16
Maria as many people know is about a court case filed against Justin of him having apparently making someone pregnant which was entirely untrue. As soon as this track started to play I felt very much as if Justin was more than inspired by Michael Jackson - Billie Jean, but definitely had a great twist of that song. I also love that at the start of the song it has all the interviews as it definitely shows what the song is about and it also shows exactly how he was feeling. When Justin Bieber had to go through the accusations I felt he was very much pushed up in to a corner from the publicity etc, but this song definitely lets him have the last word and I am happy about that as he did not deserve what this person did at all. At the very end of the song, I love how he just sings, 'she ain't my girl'. It's a definite song to listen to hear Justin's side of the story.
So, this is my track list review of Justin Bieber's album 'Believe'. As an overall album I would really advise anyone who has judged or even not judged Justin Bieber to listen to this album. It will really change your mind about him and show you how much hard work he is putting in to his career. I honestly don't believe Justin will be going anywhere for a very, very long time. I can honestly say I am more than excited to see him perform in London in 2013!
